Description: First time ever I was able to capture some (fully) red auroras... This was the strongest solar storm since December 2006... 30min before I took this - it was cloudy.

I've never even heard of a red aurora. Leave it to you, Harri, to show me once again something I've never seen. Rare and lovely.

Jack, Trudy and Caroly - Thank you so much!! These red auroras are very rare and first time ever I was able to capture these. Last time I saw fully red auroras was about ten years ago...

One dark night years ago from my front yard I saw the southern sky shimmering red. I realised I was seeing the Aurora Australis, the one and only time i have ever seen it.
Magnificent shot, Harri. You are lucky to see such wonderful sights.
