I saw another shot like this a few months back of this animal holding a full grown duck in his mouth! What is it? Whatever it is, as usually expected by you, Fred, this image is superb. WOW!

I have also shot this bird before. They have one or two at the San Diego Wildlife park. Its a very interesting looking bird. You did a dynamite job photographing it.
