Week 5, Saturday - Year of the Alpha is dead long live the Year of the Alpha!
"My blog is now renamed as 'Year of the Alpha 52 weeks of Sony Alpha Photography'. So basically I'm changing principle of this blog to work from daily to weekly basis. From now on, I will share 2 photographs per week (Wednesday & Saturday). I know this is a lot less than 365 days and I will miss all the photographs that didn't materialize because of this change, but I believe that daily target would eventually grind down any enjoyment it provides. There are some other changes as well. [...]"

BlueBomber. I really like what you have gotten with the 85! I have the same lens, but I seem to struggle with it. Great looking puppy!

Thanks!

The first time I shot with that lens, it instantly became my favorite, beating my Nikon 17-55mm 2.8, even though it's nowhere near as flexible. For the price, it's stupendously sharp, with amazing bokeh

Well, I was initially interested in a couple of spare batteries and a charger for my A7, but the other part of the deal I found was a NEX 5 converted to Infra-Red with a Super Colour 590nm filter for very little money.

I've never done IR photography before, so I thought it could be fun to give it a go.

Popped out at lunch time today after it arrived and came back with this...

Nex, your post processing and overall images are awesome. Really like what your after with that series.

Musicman, that is incredible. Love everything about that image. For some reason, it reminds me quite a bit of slide film. Great work.
