Through the Woods

My friend spotted this little guy during a hike over the summer. I used an NEX-6 and the e-mount 16mm f2.8, and had to get really close to it.

theophilus, nyce Bryce

I did some lightpainting today, although with a single flashlight with no diffusor I think they came out looking more like basic flash lit

Mike

Lit from above for a second or so (10 sec total exposure). This was part of a long panel in an unlit corridor. 35mm "Canon 'cron"

This was in an unlit room. Side light, a second or so, 10 sec exposure. 50mm DR 'cron.

The same corridor, 2 blended images, 1 lighting the front panels, 2nd lighting the back panels and wall. Blended in PS with some minor burning. 35mm Canon.

The back of the same motor as above, even darker than the front side. 50 DR 'cron. I had wanted to light the paint behind the filters differently but none of the attempts I made could be used. I was happy with this single shot though.

Yesterday, I received the Zeiss 35/2.8 FE lens. While I wait for my A7R to arrive Friday, why not throw it on the NEX-5N.

Bob - can you give us some 'impressions' about the 35 on aps-c? It looks good from what I am seeing in your images.

So far I've only used in poor light as you can see. Nonetheless it focuses quickly without hunting. There's a lot of sharpness there but I really need some good light on the NEX-5N which is ancient by mirrorless standards. The lens is very light.

Actually, here's the first shot I took with the lens. The lighting is a bit better but still not at native ISO. I guess the most impressive aspect right now is the speed of autofocus. On the NEX-5N it's faster than the RX1 but not quite as fast and the Olympus OM-D EM-5. But fast enough for most applications.

Good to know. It definitely looks really good in the small samples.

If you get a chance, can you take a pic of the lens on a NEX body for size comparison? Thank you!!!

A few taken today with Takumar 50 /turbo and 1.4 extender all but the cat was wide open.
I really like this combo.I guess it makes for a 70mm f1.0 combo. The sharpness and bokeh are impressive IMO.

I was taking some wide shots on the beach at dawn a couple of days ago and saw the sun coming up. I switched to the 100mm/F2 Canon FL to get this ... nothing special but I liked the distortion of the sun just before it cleared the horizon

Timing is everything, this was 5 mins later ... would have been great if it had been there a little earlier for the 1st

A while later taking photos of an old generator control panel
