The D300 is a very boring camera.

It does exactly what I tell it to, where's the challenge in that?

I have a D1X, a camera about 150 years old by digital standards. It also does what I want it to do.
As you can see, in that respect it is not much different than the D300.

thing is, does it do what you want it to do, without you telling it to do so?

The hardest thing about using the d300 is facing in the right direction!

I still haven't been able to train mine to shoot pictures on its own. So I guess I still have a job.

Silly man.

It's custom function q6: "Auto-Photographer"

Just set it to "On" and leave your camera on the porch.

Boring indeed... until you see the results... then it's kinda exciting really. "I DID THAT!" (We can trick ourselves into believing it... good for the ego )

" It does exactly what I tell it to, where's the challenge in that?

Well, the chellenge is this; speak to your D300 and see if it listens and obeys your voice commands. You said that it does exactly what you tell it to.." Exactly?
