Is this monopod tall with a Manfrotto 3232 tilt head tall enough for someone with a Canon XTI and battery grip?

I'm 6' and that is what I use. The 2540 is slightly too large for me with a 40D or 5D on board with or without a grip. with the 3232 it is about 3" too high when extended on a hard floor. This is a good thing because then it is pretty much adjustable up or down on uneven ground.

The 2540 is my very favorite monopod (I have 4 - don't ask).

I too have the GM2540. I bought the RRS monopod solution and I love it.

Hey JJ, you have four 2540's. You're a sick man!

I'm thinking about getting the Gitzo 2540 or the 2561T; it will be for use almost exclusively with a Canon G10 and the RRS monopod solution. Maybe 5% of the time, I'll put my Canon 5D and a 24-105mm lens on it. . . . Any advice/comoparisons between the two? I'm wondering how easy is it to carry the 2540 around with you all day when you're traveling, hiking or just out and about, vs. the 2561T, which is quite a bit smaller. . . I'm also thinking that the six sections of the 2561T is a excessive. . . Any help?

(IMO) The 2540/2541 with the RRS monopod solution is an overkill for the G10. Go for a smaller monopod without the RRS solution

Lars -- I think I misstated what I intended when I referenced the "RRS monopod solution." What I think I will use is the bogen swiveling head (part #234, previously #3232) and an RRS quick release clamp. I already own an "L" plate for the G10 when I want to put it on a tripod.

Thanks for the feedback about the 2540/2541 being overkill.
