Here comes the old gun arguements again.....

Well this board is about shooting... people shooting their kids, cars, members of sports teams... FWIW I've always hated the expression "shooting" to describe taking photos.

Interesting .. I've always hated the expression "shooting" to describe using a gun.

well whether you like it or not, the proper term is shooting a gun. Shooting refers to a projectile. A camera does just the opposite, it collects, not discharges. Just so things are clear ;-)

Thanks for the replies!

On a funny side note: For beach work there is this great product by opteka! :P http://www.opteka.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=50

Eh... while we're on the topic of creepy... that product falls into that category. The advertisement itself (the photos) basically say: use this to take photos of women in bikinis without them knowing... er, by tricking them into thinking you're shooting something else.

Creepy indeed.

I decided to keep my camera out the other day in New York. Walked all around with it out. I even went on the subway with my camera. it was strangely liberating. You can tell some people wanted to discuss the gear but remained silent.
