A thread with links to every Canon lens and pictures taken with them...

Here's the 300 2.8 thread, but it's only 6 pages...

I am thinking about a 300 2.8 IS for wild life shots. Would love to see some examples.

This thread is a very common one that gets asked around here, your best bet would be to search for it. some proud owners of the 300 2.8 will show off eventually for ya though. its an incredible lens and some day ill afford one for myself.

For what its worth..just get it. Trust us on this one.

Ditto to Nathan... Except I bought one several months ago. No regrets at all.. Wonderful lens... And if you change your mind... It'll sell fast.

The 300mm is a fantastic Lens but if nature is what your looking for a 500mm would be a better bet

Yep!

This is not the best pic as you asked for, but a test shot I took last month (the 300 2.8 L IS arrived late December) with the 2.0X attached to a 20D at ISO-400 - can't quite remember, but I think I used a monopod
Approx 70% crop

May I ask where were you exactly when you took this one?

If the answer is in another aircraft, how is it possible? Are you in the army?
or have you a slightly more expensive hobby than photography?

if I tell you - I will have to kill you
I took that shot stood on a mountainside waiting and hoping that I would be lucky enough to get a military jet passing by - and obviously hoping that it would come close enough
as you see I got Lucky

must add that I do actually shoot air to airs as well

sorry to the original poster for hijacking his thread, I will be a good boy from now on
cheers Chris
