I remember reading his columns back in the days of Modern Photography. Keppler gave a lot of practical advice.

Just last week, I was looking through a recent copy of Popular Photography, something that I haven't done in decades, and came across his column. This was a pleasant surprise to see that he was still writing his column as I would have expected him to have retired years ago.

When I was starting out in photography, I found his column to be very useful to read.

Rest in Peace, Herbert.

A man from my father's generation. Always a lover of photography and the tools used in pursuit of the art. His column is one that I've read many, many times over the years.

He will be missed.
