My Dear Watson,

I was not aware you or your minions had secured trademark and/or copyright protection on lightning bolt propellers. I presume my solicitor will be hearing from your solicitor regarding this matter.

I shot some air-to-ground stuff on the way down to Texas and again when Al and I went up early on HQ Thursday.

Good Evening Everyone,

Sorry for being comm out for the last 24, just slammed and running on fumes like many of you.

Zim, sorry our time was shortened by a day, hope you are feeling better, glad you're home in your own bed. The forecast for today was way off, so you'd still be sitting here.

Thanks to all of you for taking the time, energy and resources to make it in for HQ Thursday, and the 2013 show, what a great time from start to finish! As always, I was honored to have you all as guests at HQ, and in my little corner of the world. Seems the best times aren't really planned, they just happen. I was sorry to see Thursday draw to a close, but we certainly made the most of it. We should start putting together annual books of HQ Thursday/AFW, wouldn't they be fun to peruse in years to come?

Didn't get everything downloaded and backed up last night because I had to get all my gear reorganized for the marathon shoot I had today, which began at five with a set up for a sunrise that never happened. Trying again tomorrow, then aerials, then prep for Wed/Thurs architectural shoot.

Interesting day today - got to shoot operational F-4 & RF-4 Phantoms along with F-15's. Just a shame the weather was cloudy as they would have looked great in the sun.

Can't believe how super polite the base security were at Hyakuri Air Base. As part of their patrols, they check the id's of all non Japanese persons who are outside the fence taking photos, but do it respectfully. It did feel odd that they were apologising for interrupting me taking pictures.

Just need Apple in Tokyo to get my MacBook Air fixed so I can get my shots downloaded.

What an incredible 5 days I have had. Thursday was the great MATA HQ meet-up, weekend with the grandkids, then Monday played my bi-annual round of golf at Colonial Country Club with the Gladney Adoption Org. To top it off, I won the major prize (not related to golf skills, simply a raffle)…two free American Airlines tickets! Wifey and I get a vacation!

Here's a few parachutists from Alliance on Friday. And if you go to https://www.google.com today, there's an interactive doodle commemorating the 216th anniversary of the first parachute jump.

We debated the same thing. Another drop landed over there too, so I suspect it was on purpose.

Congrats on the new plane!

Yes that's right I got pranked.
Got back to my motel in Allen after being lost for an hour and a half. .
To find reception telling me my room had been canceled and there was a wedding on with no rooms left..WHAT ??
Luckily reception calmed me down to tell me it was a prank. .
Erich you got me....Hahaha.
I really appreciate the wonderful hospitality and great friendship shown by all the MA2A crew ..and a special thanks to Jim for his help in organizing my stay.
Great to meet you all.
And a special thanks to Steve Zimmerman for putting up with me.

What can I say about the MA2A weekend that hasn't been said? Great hospitality from Jim, and the whole experience was like meeting old friends you didn't know you had. I'm already looking forward to meeting them again. Oh, and for those who were there, yes, I did repay Al in kind for his plot with the receptionist.

Erich
