Nice work J-A!

Sometimes, a simple elevation shot where everything lines up just works for me...

Since Cleveland's airshow this year is cancelled, I'm planning on attending the Alliance airshow this year. I was looking at the Alliance website, and it looks like a lot of the pages are still there from last year's show. Is the early morning access and seating available this year? Suggestions on what hotel to stay at there? I'm looking forward to putting some faces on the names I see posting here.

Erich

Or, Color?

Jay, If only you'd given us a choice between 'duck lips' or 'no duck lips', it would be an easier question to answer.

I can't choose; both are standouts.

Jay, both have their merits and both are favorites of mine.

Fox Moth
Recently during a Warbirds day at Ardmore I took the opportunity of going for a 15min flight in this beautifully restored plane with an 84 year old father & son, at the very reasonable cost of $60, The Older gentleman flew Mosquito's as a navigator and trained in Canada in WW2, as did my uncle and many other New Zealanders's who did their airforce training in Canada at that time.

He had some great stories especially during the restoration of the KA114 Mosquito rebuilt at Ardmore, and each week on a friday afternoon, was invited to go and view & discuss the weeks progress on the basis that Dad & son brought a tray (24) beers for the team, and he was so excited to tell me that he would climb onto a scissor hoist and raise it so he could sit in the navigator's position and they took progress photos for him. He was also invited to the celebration dinner and had photos taken with the team following its completion.

The following photos are a memory of this flight & the surrounds taken during this flight and a link to this bygone era.

NOW I see what's on those intakes. Couldn't see it very well on FB. Very Cool!

So, I just got invited to a 4th of July party at the home of an airshow performer in SoCal where Dick Rutan may be in attendance!

Dear Erich,

Yes, we'll be leading dawn patrol tours and the photo pit will be in full swing. Zim and the gang can give you hotel ratings. My client puts me up at the Marriott Doral just north of AFW. I've stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, and the Hampton.

Close in and nice places to stay. I'm going to arrange for a discounted block of rooms at the Courtyard in Allen for HQ Thursday. As we get closer I'll need to know how many of us want to saty at this end of town Wednesday/Thursday, then go over to AFW early Friday morning.

I look forward to seeing you! We'll have some fun.

Nice Zane. Looks like that Cobra is augmenting neighborhood surveillance, probably just taking some of the load off the IRS/NSA...............

On the subject of duck lips, it's virtually impossible to discipline yourself not to do that. Gunny and I have laughed about it. If you're going up for a photo shoot, it's a good idea to remind everyone to move the mic far enough away that folks aren't subconsciously "kissing" the mic muff through the flight.

Thanks for sharing the Fox Moth series, went. It's just too bad about the lousy scenery in NZ.

OH! I thought it was cancelled too! Are you going? Anyone else going to be there? Maybe we can meet up at the show.

Jim, great, looking forward to hearing more as the plans come together.

There are a couple of modern metal storage buildings I'd like to see gone, and perhaps one or two of the more obnoxious street lights.

Thanks Steve - I value your comment and opinion. I have reworked the original. I have removed those items (Thank to Content Aware in PS) and have 'turned the lights off' in some of the houses and turned 'em down in the rest.
Recropped to get nearer the rule of thirds.

Two versions - not sure which I prefer... colour or B&W?

Further C&C welcome
