Wow Jay! Even though the one with Stearmans is simply great, I keep getting back to the C152. It's pretty much everything that I like in a good photo. Amazing job once again, but then again, I wouldn't be expecting anything else...

Dear Jan Arie,

I watched that leading edge slowly eek into North Texas as I was flying. It's still sliding slowly in. When I landed it was smooth as glass, a 90 degree cross at 8. Hated to put her away, but Sheila was hungry and she doesn't ask much of me. The next two days are going to be cool and wet, and we need the wet.

Oh yes, plenty of wet. I like that.

I grew up as an Aussie equivalent of your ranchers and there is nothing that destroys the soul more than a prolonged drought.

Tim

Where did you grow up Tim

Al

SE of a town called Cudal

Gotta be quiet about this with all these Texans but we ran sheep .Used to shear around 15000 of them and join about 800 cows for beef

Tim

PS. and then there were the horses which father thought far more of then he did his children. About 20 mares and a stallion. No time for photography which in retrospect is an era lost

This thread is going to cost me money... I keep looking at my poor 70-200 + TC's and thinking "it's just not going to cut it"!

Yes Welcome Peter, and welcome back Russ!

Cool stuff Jan Arie!

JJ, this thread costs all of us money. What the heck, we'd just waste it someplace else like groceries, tuition, the mortgage..........

FYI, looks like the pre trip, and the air to air programs at ISAP 2013 are getting close to full. Just a few slots left on each activity. I'm going to cringe over not being there.

Oh well, this is a business, not a hobby. That's a perspective I adopted early on and it has served me pretty well. The other mindset I burned in early in my career is "Successful people make a habit of doing the things they don't want to do." I forget who said that, I think Earl Nightingale, a motivator from five decades ago. Very true though.

I have far more cars than planes, but here's some "old prints" edits from last year's EAA warbirds show, all with my 300mm ED AIS on D7000
