Hello everyone,

Since the 'Rumor Thread' has now been set free, please continue miscellaneous discussion regarding PMA announcements in this thread. Included in this thread's content should be speculation about the newly announced models/lenses not currently released yet, discussions of products that were not announced, etc.

Carry on...

Looks like i'll be waiting until Aug/Sept for Canon's new full frame camera(s). I doubt i'll get any camera until they replace the 5D

It really is all about the pre-announcements. We have a "post-PMA" thread 2 weeks before PMA ...

PMA hasn't started yet, has it? Or is it somehow known that we don't get to have any more product announcements?

I am still hoping that they will announce the 40D at PMA...

Hmm, I do hope that Canon announces a 5D successor, instead of a 40D... But we will see, maybe they introduce a 4000D to compete with the D40..

I really like some of the features of the 1D3 but can't afford it.

So I guess I can only hope some of those features will trickle down to my more affordable level during the next year or so.

If I start selling some stuff and saving now by the time they do I may actually be able to afford the 1D3.

Plan B is to see what happens in the way of new glass.

"Yes, Canon confirmed that these will be all the new products announced in the run-up to and during PMA, which starts on March 8th."

Looks like that is it from Canon now until after PMA

Rather anti-climatic and dissappointing.

I can go back to sleep till fall then.

Pease don't shoot the messenger

Maybe there will be a new mount to go with the next pro camera or there will be a whole batch of new glass announced whenever the 1DsIII is launched.

Roll on the summer

Hey, I don't think we have necessarily reached the "post-PMA" stage yet, have we? Or is someone at FM certain that there will be no more "pre-PMA" or "at-PMA" announcements?

Or is this actually the "Official Unofficial Pre-PMA Post-PMA Discussion thread?"

Not so sure about that...look at the last picture, 3 SLR's there. The center is clear, 1D3, Right and Left Then look at the NEW boxes on the right. Those are not point and shoot boxes, too big. One of the newer type boxes matches the box in the center for the 1D3...the others?? We will have to wait and see. I also think there will be other lense coming.

I think those are 5D, 30D and 400D
There seems a promotion coming for those bodies in a range of kits with different lenses. And these kits will come in those boxes. Have a look at this:

Well, the wall states boldly 6 new photo kits for the 30D, and 5 new photo kits for the 5D. If they had some intention of replacing those models, I'd find that advertising a little strange highlighting old models. Looks to me like those are the boxes for the photo kits with the contents pictured on the red area in the upper left of each box.

Face it guys, Canon's all done. They updated their most frequently updated camera, some P&S models that no one really cares about, and announced a new lens.

Oh, I almost forgot my party hat. Here, let me put it on so I can celebrate yet another release that means nothing to me. I feel better now that I have my hat on.

Canon: Gee, thanks for coming, see ya next year. Bye bye now. Don't let the door hit you on the ......

(I'm going home to mope...)

Maybe Canon is holding back on the 40D announcement till after all the hype of the 1D3. First they hit us with the 1D3 and just as we think that’s all they got, they announce the 40D and a couple new EF-S lenses!

I rekon that the 6D won't come out till later in the year when the 1Ds Mk III is released, and a set of full framed lenses to complement these 2 cameras.

I know many are disappointed that PMA came and went without bringing many of us anything to get excited about, but when you think about it, Canon did us a favor.Yes, the actual show part is pretty much a formality now and the fat lady has sung.

So many of us have been expecting something for our own particular market segment and were left with nothing. Canon updated the one camera that receives more frequent updates than any other (must be for their most important customers) and decided to leave the rest until another unspecified date.

For all the 40d complaints, you had your turn last year when you got a 30d but the 1Ds crowd has been stiffed yet again (camera was release 2-1/2 years ago).

On a positive note though, now that PMA is over we can all start the pre-fall rumor thread, debate the merits of mostly meaningless add-ons that Canon won't possibly ever give us, and lie awake at nights hoping Canon will give us built-in wireless flash or something Nikon has been handing out for years.

OK, that was dripping with sarcasm, but it's time to buck up, move on, and shoot'em if you've got'em. Remember PMA is only about 380 days away!

That would explain why a lot of stores are out of the 30D! They are waiting for the kits! And we thought a new 40d was coming our way...wrong!
