Here are some of my first fall color shots as I got into Colorado this past year. The first one was off of HWY 160 just west of Durango, and the last 2 were just north of Durango on 160. Not long after taking these, the skies opened up with rain, and also began to coat the mountains with a frosting of snow at the higher elevations. It was a great time to be out shooting.

All comments are welcome.

#2 is the one that really grabs me, Jim. Love the bright white trunk of the aspens spaced within the beautiful array of fall colors. I would think about cropping the first from the right to make the shed less centered.

Merry Christmas,
Ed

Love the second Jim...
Having those smaller Aspens in full view makes the image stand out.

Yes, those Colorado Aspens are brighter/straighter than those in the Sierra!

Merry Christmas Ed, thanks so much. I am glad you like #2, I really like the way the light was breaking through the clouds occasionally and kissing this area. That's a good thought on #1, I will have to play with cropping on that one.

Nice series Jim!
I'm loving the second photo and its balanced composition. Color, light and post-processing top-notch as always.
All the best,
Fred

Great shots, Jim. I like the variety of colors, especially in the second. But I find myself lingering on the third the most; it seems to have an unexpected depth with the aspens lined up like that.

Beautiful shots, Jim.

I'm really liking the second one. The tree in the middle seems to say, "Hey, look at me". It's perfect. Nicely done.

Thanks so much Dave, I felt the same about #3, so it's great that you picked up on that too!

Hey John, thanks! Yeah, I liked how that one was laid out and it was cool with the smaller tree in front like that.

Really nice, Jim! The 2nd for me, too, but you know I love the 1st, with that old shack. A really neat contrast to the colorful aspen.
