Yellow Reduviid (Cosmolestes picticeps) preying on the male(?) of a mating moth couple. The couple still wouldn't let separate!

Wow, great detail, but I cry foul, they should be allowed to finish their act before death!

Good find.

There are some species of biting midge where the female eats the male while mating. He latches on with his tail (where flies keep their sex organs). She inserts her beak into his head and sucks his brains out. The rest of his body knows what to do without a brain. When she finishes his dessicated body breaks and falls to the ground, leaving his sexual organs still attached.

Beautiful. Not only the composition but also the thought behind it. Love the focus too.
