Must not be selling as many D600's as predicted.

I wouldn't assume that they're not selling, they're just being aggressive and offering better value.

The real profit is in the lenses, so the more bodies Nikon gets out there, the more potential lens sales too.

IMO, it's a no-brainer if you're thinking about the D600...

Actually, Nikon has called the sales figures of FX bodies disappointing. I'm sure this is designed to entice more DX shooters to go FX and of course the new lenses that will be needed which is where they really make their money.

If you consider the retail price of the lens being $600, here is the $1,400 price tag on the body that everyone was hoping for before it was announced!! It's a shame it is ending tomorrow... this is VERY tempting. Sell the lens and the extras, and have an ~$1,400 D600.

It is tempting, maybe I should sell my 24-85 VR today and see what I could get for it.

I paid 2100 for just the body Lesson learned--never jump on something the minute it comes out.

I think I'm going to pick up the one from Adorama. It seems like a better value.
