I heard a rumor that the 200 f/2 will be on sale for $999, only 100 will be available...

(ok I made up that rumor)

how do we get in on this??

The 200mm f/2 will only be available for purchase as a kit lens with the 24mp, 73-pt AF, triple CF-slot D400, which will be sold for $1,300 body-only, and a MB-D113 grip for $95.

I got a Nikon Store refurb sale e-mail this morning, and it wasn't all that great. Refurb D800 was $2700.

Is this new sale going to be all dealers, or just Nikon USA.

Newspaper today had an ad at local shop (Kenmore Camera) for D600 Kit with the 25-85 VR lens for $1999. Two days only and really got me thinking about going for it, but I expect we'll probably see D600 prices coming down before long anyway.

Same ad had D800 for $2700 I think as well - body only though pretty sure, so not as good of a deal.

The D600 deal is pretty darn good. The D800 body price, well, that probably isn't enough for me to pull out the gold card.
