Time of day was not ideal, but I thought it looked interesting given the conditions. What do you folks think?

Pretty nice shot! If it were me (and this means, my comments are not authoritative by any means) I'd try to recover the detail in the little girl a little, crop up to get the crest of the hill roughly at the lower-one-third rule of thirds line, and crop in a bit to get the girl to line up on the right hand rule of thirds line. But I'm OCD like that.

Also... I think the vignette is a touch heavy.

Yup, I like that shot. Nice work. The low perspective really works for kids that are knee-high or smaller, IMO. Reminding us what the big world looks like from down there!
