For years, I have marveled images of Grebes carrying and feeding their youngs off of their back from Tim Kuhn. Finally, to my great surprise, sightings were reported at local ponds this past summer. Out "sick" for couple of days and these were the best I could come up with.

HEAVILY cropped with TC...They were extremely skittish.

Pretty darn good, I'd say. I'm lovin' the behavior shots of feeding the young. Persistence paid off! Now about that alibi thing......

These are a real treat to see Thang, fascinating sequence and the crops held up well.
Congrats on capturing some very cool behavior I've never seen firsthand.
Just what the doctor ordered.

Super set Thang!! It's amazing just how delicate the parents present the food the little ones, you captured that superbly Lucky for you that you fell ill when these guys were around

Interesting shots, Thang. First ones I've seen of the adults feeding the young, and a young one jumping ship to get fed.

Are they not Clark's Grebes?

Great shots. However, I think those are Clark's Grebes and not Western Grebes due to the dark feathers being above the eyeline.
