Years ago (just for kicks) I went to my first and only motocross (indoors in Portland, Orygun).
Took my camera with B&W film. Took some pictures from the stands.
It took me a few shots before I realized how high they flew on the main jump .

nice, brings back memories, raced those bikes in the 70's and early 80's, and currently race that bike in the first pick in Vintage MX and I'm 51! My teen son races with me and some friends....fun stuff but I have to take the elevator at work for a couple days after racing

Cool pics.

Like Kell, I rode bikes back during that time and am doing so now with my son. I can't get over how much the bikes have changed and find it a little hard to believe how hard we pushed those bikes back then, considering how improved they are today.

Thanks Scott.
I owned a motorcycle for a grand total of one month. Obviously, I didn't race.
Although I'm a car guy, 2-wheeled riding basically scares the hell out of me. And I have great appreciation for the skills and guts of those who race them.
Whether now or years ago, my guess is that it's basically the same thing: wring the very best performance out of the bike AND the rider. And do it all the time- every time.
That's gotta be a challenge.
