I am researching variable neutral density filters. I've used the rectangular Cokin G1 for years, but would like to switch to a screw mount. Some on the market allow for up to 8 stops of adjustment, such as the Singh-Ray, but the price is breathtaking. Does anyone have any experience using these newer variable filters that are less expensive than the S-R, or have any recommendations? |

Try the new generation of Tiffen's. I think 2filter.net has them as does everyone else. |

Thanks Howard, I'll look at them. Anyone have any experience with the Phottix VND? |

I have the Heliopan variable ND and if you go past 2 or 3 stops you get a dark brown color shift. Not what I was expecting from a $300+ filter. |
