This is another image from Castle Bottom. We went there on a somewhat gloomy late afternoon, and I found this rather stark scene suited the light well.
The autumn colours are holding on and are still quite amazing in places.

Thanks for looking. Ute

It may be gloomy, but the colors are still very nice.
Great scene Ute.

Ute,

Happened to be listening to Clair de Lune as this came on screen...you're right about gloomy and stark. It's like the foreground trees are "Have Nots" and those in the distance the "Haves." Everything can't be sunny, can it?

Nice one Ute - I like the delicately lit forest and the hint of Autumn in the background.

Hi Ute:
This is very nice. A wonderful use of light and depth of field plus your usual knack of visualizing the image. In some ways it is very primal but delicate in the way you wrapped the light nearly around each tree.

Wonderful Ute,

Looks like a painting and I really like the bits of color in the back.

Super composition, Ute - the 2 falling trees really point you into the scene and across to the more colourful part of it.

This is a great comp with a uniform tonality and palette. It is quite compelling. I'd consider removing that large diagonal branch in the URC, it distracts me.

Very nice work, Ute!
