There have been so many posts with pics from WNC that I felt I had to get out and see if I could represent. This view is similar to one matthewo posted recently. The day was increasingly overcast but right around sunset there was a short period of nice light.

We stopped here for a few minutes on our way to Brevard. Didn't have a chance to shoot anything there. Will have to get back. Understand they just reopened this area.

Yes, Ed the parking lot had been closed for much of the summer and recently reopened in late Sept. I believe. They improved the walkway down to the falls and raised the parking level (yet again).

Nice. I see there are a lot of NC area people on this board. Anyone ever have a small group outing to any falls? I know there are Meet Up groups, but those are too large. Wondering if there are ever groups of 2-5 that go out?

I tend to go out alone but I have met up with forum members before, mostly just to meet them. I suppose something could be arranged though. I joined the CNPA.org but their groups are so large and so varied as to experience. So much to shoot up here besides waterfalls but they are hard to pass by. Almost any stream has something to offer.

If we have some members interested we could meet up sometime perhaps start up on the BRP and go from there. Not sure how that might be coordinated though.
