ISO 6400

The image quality looks really good but IMO I don't consider 4,000 high ISO. Have you shot anything at 12,800 or higher to do a comparison? I've seen some guys in the sports forum shoot as high as 25,600 with this body and produce usable images.

Are the images SOOC JPEGs (which by default will have NR applied) or are they from raw files without any NR?

It's RAW with NR off processed in LR4

please post more, and if you can, at ISO 10.000/12.800 / 6400 and tell us what lens/aperture was used.

Hard to judge shots online, but then again, I like to print at large format sizes.

To me, the ISO 4000 image looks milky while the highlights in the ISO 3200 image look blown out.

These are TIGHT. for those of us that can not afford 1DX, what lower priced Canon Model has good high ISO pictures with low Noise?

5D III then 1D IV, although 1D IV you'd probably stop at 12800. But it's certainly good to 6400.

The 1D-X also shines on poorly light high school soccer fields. Here is a ISO 20,000 capture:
