I was able to get onto Fire Island an hour or so before the bridge was closed to arriving vehicles and the evacuation started. I shot the waves prior to the arrival of Sandy. Even well before the arrival, the surf was impressive. I could use some comments on appropriate processing for these images. I have included an image which is basically out of camera and attempts to process this image and a few others. |

Looks like a very angry sea, stay safe. I converted your 1st image to B/W using Nik SilverEFX 2 and you might consider taking about half off the sky. |

Many changes you could try if you want to cut back the gloom. Darken the foreground. Reduce the noise. Bump the exposure and play with the gamma. Dodge the froth and spray. Increase the vibrance and saturation. Add some vignette. Possibly crop and flip the bird. |
