Really like #2 Brian. Beautiful bird with the traces of red at the tips of the head feathers and you caught him in some nice light.

Hi,

Those KF's are beautiful birds. This one seems a little soft.

Second one though - oof body leading to the sharp eye with a good comp - I like this one much more.

Love #2 - from that pose the question is, is it a bird or some sort of prehistoric rodent

Thanks Kirk and Ron. They are almost like some sparrows when I have been to Africa. Fascinating to watch and quite bold even when they are not living close to people.

Did a repost - so hope it is legal! The KF does seem soft but it may very well be because it was a wide open f4.5 too. I was hand holding so that could be most of it but another bird on the life list so may have been me or the low SS. Oh well. Full of excuses. Haha.

Thanks Steve, K, and frogfish.

I like both,
The malakite is tiny, what about the size of the Crested Barbet, the first picture I presume.

Thanks Codroy and Eric.

Nugeny - bigger than a sparrow but smaller than our robins.

Thanks CT, Ed and Tom.
