Wow! That's a great deal! Thanks for the info.

In a few days I'll see if Canon has finally fixed mine. If not, might be time to try another one.

I bought one too. My daughter complains that the 18-55 kit lens on her 20D is too slow and I won't let her use my good lenses. So now she has a faster lens that I can borrow from her! Looking forward to checking this little bugger out.

What a steal. This is a great lens, I'm trying to talk myself out of buying another one "for my wife."

Just bought one from Beach, will make it easier for me now to replace my beloved Sigma with the Zeiss 50 MP if I decide to do so

Anything else in that kit worth keeping?

Why not? In for one. I guess jit will be down to 50 1.8 prices soon. Between this and the t3i deal from B&H, I now have a new ultralight kit dslr kit ...

Wow! Makes my "bargain" seem expensive now. So I overpaid by $50.

Still waiting for either shipping confirmation or for it to show up on my doorstep. My cc was charged at the time for purchase. I haven't dealt with this co. before and I've been spoiled by B&H communication. Anyone else that bought one from this dealer get theirs yet?

I walked into my local camera store (Peoria Camera Shop) on Monday and asked if they honor the Canon rebates. They replied "If Canon is offering a rebate, we are offering the rebates as well" in a very friendly manner. Purchased the shorty forty and it is awesome!!

Considering going back and picking up another lens with the rebate. The 3-4 different lenses I've had my eye on are only a small amount more with the instant rebate than what their used prices are. I'd MUCH rather to buy new and local for basically the same price.

I'm checking for water damage...

I had shipments from both them and B&H delayed by Sandy.
