I'm sure it's common enough, I just don't recall seeing one around before.

That would appear to be a wolf spider by the unique look of the eight eyes, two big forward looking, flanked by two upward looking, and a row of 4 small below.

OK, thanks. It was the yellow on the legs that I found unusual. I don't remember our wolf spiders having that trait, but I don't spend much time with them ...
