Mark III from outer space. Is Canon trying to find out if a wacko price policy is good for business..theirs? or maybe Nikons |

That is really enough to pi$$ one off. What is is it, 5 months after introduction you have to take a hit for $550 or so? We all new it was coming, but damn that hurts when it's so soon and so big. |

If they bundled it with other lenses, so people who have the 24-105 would have a different option, they could sell more. |

That will mean a lot more 24-105mm lenses for sale at less on the B&S Forum. |

It's the market at work. The 5DIII is a used by pros. If you were a successfully wedding photographer it was probably worth the expensive upgrade, mostly for the auto focus system. Amateurs, like myself, can probably wait a bit When did the 5DIII come out? |

Not only is Canon showing tremendous disrespect toward those who paid full price for the 5DIII, they are also showing tremendous disrespect toward independent camera shops and their distribution network. The big stores (B&H, Adorama, etc) have been granted special treatment by Canon -- small independent shops have not been included in this deal. It's not fair when places like Adorama and B&H are retailing their product for significantly less than the amount that small shops pay Canon for the exact same thing. Nikon has taken steps to protect their distribution network and create a system that is fair for everyone. Canon doesn't seem to care. |
