Well considering the 1/4" sensors used in camcorders for 1080p video, it is not much of a stretch to get 4K out of the 1/1.7" sensor

Lots of depth of field, some diffraction.

This is curious considering that I believe the FS700 is based off of a similar sensor. The specs state that it is a third more sensitive and almost double the saturation.

The FS700 already is a killer video camera...wonder what Sony has up their sleeves?

Canon better have their act together.

Didnt know about this.. interesting. Should be easier and cheaper today. Just wish some manufacturer wanted to do it.. Digital version of Texas "Leica" would be nice..
