I was fortunate enough to get several photos of this Bobcat transversing the intercoastal waterway in Cape Romain NWR. I am told it had been over 25 years since anyone had seen a cat swimming, but we knew they could because they live on Bull Island, a part of Cape Romain. This was taken at about 8:30 in the morning, we think maybe she had chased a deer or another animal into the water and was following it. I estimate she weighed about 35-40 lbs. |
