If anyone has this tripod or used it before I appreciate any advice on suggested compatible ball heads, weight capacity, convenience for travelling or any other information. I just bought it through B&S for a great price but without a ball head. I have the Manfrotto 496RC ball head and was wondering if it goes well with it. My heaviest setup is Nikon D700 and a Nikon 80-200 2.8D with a Kenko 2x Pro 300. |

I've used the 1325 for several years as my main tripod with a RRS-BH55 ball head and highly recommend the combo. I also do a lot of landscape and night photography, so for such shooting the tripod travels easily in it's bag with a shoulder strap. As for capacity I believe it's about 26 lbs. The largest lens I've used on it was a Canon 300 2.8, I use it regularly with a Canon 70-200 2.8 and a 5DMKlll with no issues at all. Hope that helps |

I still use a G1325 tripod. I just never had the need to buy a newer model. I've used both the BH40 and BH55 on it. It will support up to a 300 2.8 IS lens. With a sturdy ballhead, your camera and lens should be more than adequately supported. Enjoy using your G1325. |

I use an Arca Swiss B1 with the G1325 and it has worked well as it is very stable. |

I'd get a better head somewhere along the line, but the 1325 is fine for your needs. I do far prefer the G locks of the later legsets as they are so much easier to tighten. Though from your sig, it appears you are young and likely have decent hands. |

I have 1325 which I bought used here on FM. Told it was version I. I can't recall what the difference is or if there is any plain marking. I use an arca swiss monoball b1, and also the manfrotto geard head (not the huge one). Works well with my 400mm do. |

Not to highjack the OP's thread, but does anyone know what the difference is between the G1325 and the MK2? |

How about the Gitzo Magnesium Ballheads? Are they better than the Manfrotto 496-498 series? |
