Hi, I am staying in El Paso, TX for a few days and decided to drive the 85miles to WHite Sands yesterday afternoon. It got cloudy during the day so I though there would be some nice color. When I got there it was way too cloudy to the west I though and and as sunset approached I though it was going to be a dud. I have never been to the place and did not know where to go. I founf a few good spots after quite a bit of walking from the road. I snapped a few pics but the light was pretty flat. I decided to start walking to the car since it was parked far away and I did not have a flashlight. I walked a few hundred feet when boom the sky just exploded! It started turning a fiery red even though the sun was nowhere to be seen. OMG. I was caught out of position a bit but tried to make the best of it. (last image) |

You've got a fine set of images from the outing. The unexpected color explosion usually sets me off on a frantic (and probably comedic as seen by others) search for a composition. |
