The large colony of gannets in Quebec is absolutely amazing. This year was the first time I've gone to the actual island, and I wish I could have stayed longer. It's the perfect place to practice BIF, and what wonderful subjects!

These were all with the 7D, 70-200/4 IS, 1.4X TC.

Thanks for looking!

An excellent set, Charles. I especially liked #2, #3, and #5.
Yeah - a pity about the background in #2

Wonderful stuff Charles,
When did you go?

Good looking gannet set Charles. Those are lovely birds. I'd happily spend days shooting them.

Congratulations on the trip and a wonderful gallery of images here Charles.
You captured some terrific perspectives... 2, 4, and 5 are my favorites, but I enjoyed seeing each one.
Very well done and thanks for sharing.

I sure hope I get to check this off my bucket list someday.

Thanks a lot guys! I am happy to see that you liked them as much as I did! The nice thing about going to see these birds is that you can get really close. You have to take a boat ride around the island, where tou often see whales, dolphin, seals, ect.

It's pretty amazing, and I really wish I could have stayed longer! I had 30 minutes to take a few images, then we had to hike back 7 km's to catch the last boat of the day!

Thanks again!

Rob~ thanks so much for picking a favorite!

Tim~ thanks for stopping by!

Nancy~ we saw these birds by accident about 6 years ago and I've been fascinated with them ever since. These shots were all taken on our honeymoon, so I'm lucky she let me go at it for 30 minutes :-P
