Hello There,

The finnish on my 5D Mark 3 is wearing away around the bottom left edge of the camera.

It looks like it's 5 years old..not 5 months old.

I have no idea what wore the finnish away.

Anyone else have this issue?

He is posting this all over on photo forums. That way, some will read all the posts and think its happening to everyone.

I thought he was talking about the people who live in Finland.

The finnish is wearing off? I haiti when that happens. I czecked my 5D classic, and it's still good togo after all these years. Perhaps you should take a pole? There's norway that a sudan, widespread drop in quality would go un-noticed.

I'm actually Finnish, yet I have no knowledge of this incident. Strange. I'll ask my brother if he knows anything.

If it is just the "n" in the finnish that is wearing off, you will end up with a perfect finish.

I prefer the Norwegian rather than "Finnish" look. Although Monty Python were mighty impressed with Finland

There was a problem with a contaminant turning finish white a while back...3 or 4 mounths and there was a recall...think it was the 60D...

Well, if you were a Nikon owner you would:

1) return the camera
2) tell everyone under the sun that Nikon's build quality is garbage
3) recommend everyone check their cameras for the exact same problem and begin writing letters and placing phone calls to Nikon requesting a recall on all cameras
4) complain that Nikon only cares about selling cheap products that are designed to fall apart forcing you keep buying more cameras and lenses that are disposable items
5) profess that you will never buy another Nikon product again

Fortunately, you Canon owners seem to be a bit more level headed than the current Nikon owners.

Perhaps a few photos would help. Most likely something is rubbing excessively such as a strap or bag.
