Went by the pond to see how much water they had drained out (quite a bit) and noticed a Yellow-legs halfway out. Since so much water has been removed I could actually walk out on a narrow spit of mud and get close to the Yellowlegs.

The good thing about that is the migratory waders may like the mud while it lasts

Nice shot on the long legged one Tom, super light and perfect angle. I'm surprised you were able to pull yourself out of the mud

Nice dive bombing shot with the gear down, I wouldn't want that strafing my back either!!! To funny in the sticks, spot on techs but I wouldn't call them clean shots He does look pissed and perplexed.

Excellent set of parting shots, who knows how long before the machines scare it all away.

From peaceful to all havoc cutting loose!

I was enjoying the serenity of the YL and then the next shot got me going, amazes me what birds actually harass hawks to no end. I think those birds know to stay on the high side for safety, those are beautiful shots of the hawk and #3 is great sight to see with the stretch from toe to wing tip, very cool shot Tom

I hope something good comes from the pond draining

Great pose with the leg up of the Yellow-legs in some sweet light buddy... good call on gettin' out in the mud.
Cool shot of the other demon bird harassing the RTH... RTH seems totally not bothered at all.
Perfect exposures on the last 2 with beautiful detail... would love to see a video of his escape.

The Yellowlegs is a beauty and I love the very unusual pose in #3.
The story reminds me of a cat I know. He is fully grown and easily scared off by wood pigeons.

I particularly like seeing the crow harassing the hawk- although I'm surprised that it looks like he's attacking with his claws. Those are for perching and walking on. I'd think he'd have his beak out front so he could peck the hawk.

Fun to see the Crow in attack mode as they always are when the Hawks are about
