Its an old estate thats been restored, and the grounds are free to wander. Great place for flowers year round, and butterflies as well. Its only about 10 minutes away, and usually not very crowded.
Good place to practice and lose yourself for an hour or so.
One thing I keep noticing is how light the images look on my PC at work, comapred to my calibrated monitor at home, so as well as the image let me know if its too bright.

Uncalibrated displays are almost always too bright to render photographs "properly". "Properly" is based upon an approximation of how an image will print.

I agree, not too bright.
Without looking at the histogram I get an impression of relatively little depth. It may be due to the lighting, to the actual limited variation in tonal range of the greens, or to a processing issue. Sometimes when shadows are opened up in post processing the same look occurs. I would suggest some more processing to darken some of the greens selectively to try to add more depth.
Pretty place and one I should perhaps visit. I live closer to the South Shore, but this might be worth the trip.
BTW, do you get down to the Arnold Arboretum much?

I tried ... since it was your idea

Four main concepts in play for this one:

Sharpening
Selective Color
Selective Saturation
Selective Shadows

Sharpening for some contrast boost and some detail
Selective color to introduce some variation in the greens
Selective saturation to push/pull yellow & greens
Selective shadows to provide some depth in a few areas.

Fairly moderate, but iterative & cumulative ... S&P to taste.

Second attempt, for some reason the first was too large after I saved and processed it.

I opened this as a raw file in CS6 and did all changes there. I reduced exposure, fixed white and highlights, opened up shadows, added some contrast and vibrance.

I would usually do more in photoshop but I won't be able to beat Kents version, so I just wanted to show what ACR6 could do during raw conversion. I am more of a global corrections guy.
