August 19th is way too early for the maples to be changing color. I wonder if it is due to this summers drought?

Tom, we are starting to see the color change already down here in Georgia too. It has to be the drought.

I like your image here, very nice soft colors of the changing leaves against the vibrant colors of those still holding onto green.

Thank you for the comments on my submission. I had been thinking that it might be the drought. I may be downloading data from the National Phenophase Network later this year to see how my area fared in the drought compared to previous years. It is my understanding that if trees are effected, they show the stress in the fall.
