My dog used to smile as well...big toothy grins. Great shot. The shallow dof really gives you the feeling of how soft the hair is.

Thanks for the comments, folks..."humour" was a tough one for me, as portraits of any kind are outside my comfort zone, and a rehash of some internet viral photographic joke didn't feel right...of course I ended up running the dogs around for a half-hour in the 100 degree sun just to get one big smile.... And Goldens always seem to be smiling.
