Paint is the main "feature" of these walls and you presented it nicely. Lots of stories within those layers of paint.

I find it interesting that the building is sided with what appears to be corrugated metal.

Oregon Gal, you are right it is actually corrugated metal, in fact the majority of the building facade is metal made to look like stone work. It was build in a rush in the gold rush (along with the the rest of the 'city').

ESC, the paint most likely has lead in it, but I also think the metal underneath it may contain a even more lead!
