Today my Peli Case 1550 arrived so I've just spent the last hour plucking the foam out for my gear to fit nice and snug.

I've read so many reviews about the foam being really difficult to 'pluck' but I found it a doddle. I didn't have to mark it or use any special technique to pluck it at all. I know some of you have discussed hard cases for your gear recently so I thought I'd show you how it looks.

I will keep my gear nice and safe in here and take out what I need when I go shooting.

Inside the case is the following:

D4
70-200mm f2.8 vr2
85mm f1.4G
24mm f1.4G
14-24mm f2.8G

All lens hoods are reversed and attached and everything fits very snug indeed. Nothing will move around in there, and I have to say the case is built like a tank. I can see how these things are claimed to be crush proof, bullet proof, water proof etc.

I went for Orange as it will make it a lot more visible should anyone ever pick it up and try to walk off with it.

nicely layed out. here's my mess i went to tan cause i got a great deal. moving this loaded takes a bit of effort. this is my storage not working case. sorry, i'm being "snarky" today, and probably everyday and i honestly though that S word came and went in recent vernacular as it is quite old to begin with.

Very cool. I was looking at the dividers option but all my loose bits are kept in a lowepro backpack so I only needed the peli to hold my expensive stuff and protect it from kids, missus, pets etc.

My case full must be about 12kg but I'm a regular gym goer so don't find it heavy. I can imagine yours must have a few kilos on that so no doubt it would get tiring shifting that about.

Nice looking new case there, and the tan one looks very utilitarian too! It has to be comforting to have such secure storage for your gear.

12 Kg you say. i wish mine was that light . mine would never make the trunk of my car w/o a forklift.
