The 18 may be the worst optically of the Fuji primes, but it's still very good.

Finally the Aurora Borealis showed up on a clear evening. Usually it's either overcast or the lights doesn't show up until three in the morning... Since we were going for a weekend trip early the next day and I hadn't yet packed I was a bit stressed, but got a few decent ones (X-A1 + XF 14mm). Hope I'll have another chance soon.

Helena, never saw the Aurora above the lights of a city. Great shot.

I have to say, the Fuji 23/1.4 is exceeding my expectations.
Just a little bokeh test.

100% crops. There is a tiny bit of CA visible in the eye which I did not correct. This is out of the X-A1 and taken at F2.

Rendering is quite nice for a busy background.

Ian and BokehBeauty, thank you, and everyone else for the likes!
It was the most powerful Northern lights in many years, so I sure am glad I decided to go out even though I was really busy. I don't feel I made the most of it though, so hopefully there will be another evening like it soon.

Tariq, very nice indeed. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, it does very good overall, particularly given it's wider FL on APS. Occasionally I notice where out of focus, bright, busy areas are accentuated with the Fuji 23/1.4 (they seem to come forward more and are brighter) to a greater extent than I'm used to but then my reference here is the RX1 Sonnar.

You're welcome Helena. Gorgeous shots of the Aurora Borealis. I hope one day to experience them.

Great stuff on this thread as always. A quick one from last night at Hiroshima castle with the X-t1 and the 14mm xf.

Thanks.

Thanks but I think in this case it hard more to do with the odd sodium lights providing the ambient.
