Lenmar gets a good rep on here.

As far as I have used I have found a few cheap ebay ones perform just as well as a genuine canon . the only thing I have had to do is take the caps from a genuine canon and put on the 3rd party one.
It seems to be a thing with all the 3rd party ones that the caps dont fit as well as genuine

Well, if you searched for 'MP-E3' batteries, you likely got zero results because it's actually an 'NP-E3' battery.
In any case, My Lenmar replacements are fantastic on my 1D…I recently shot a 4,000 entry race event on two batteries (never actually having completely exhausted either battery)

I used Lenmar's with great satisfaction for my two 1DII's.

I put Lenmars on my 1D2n and the Lenmar caps fit OK, but I kept the Canon ones just in case.

On my previous 1D2n i got 2 cheap ebay ones to replace a knackered genuine that refused to hold charge. the 3rd party ones were absolutly fine and held charge very well . the only issue I had with their caps was when n portrait orientation the camera could shut off (no probs in landscape) . so I took a cap from the genuine and replaced it on one of the ebay ones. result a perfect battery.

search places like ebay for knackered genuine ones. they do have a cost but they are worth it.

I did it once but found the Lenmar fit to be just as good as the OEM Canon so I actually switched it back. For the record, both my Lenmars have been purchased within the last year so I don't know if previous ones had any 'fit issues'.

Here's a copy of the reply I just posted in another battery thread:

I also use Lenmars (have 2) purchased from Amazon.

The fit (at the front curved edge where the release push button is located) is not flush to the camera body like with my two Canon batteries.

First one purchased a year or so ago, shot an event 1300+ pictures with 1D2 and battery indicator still showed full.

Purchased second one a month ago, recently shot an event 700+ pictures with 1Ds2 and battery indicator shows full.

As recommended by a forum member in an older thread, prior to using a new battery I use the REFRESH option on the Canon charger, and then let it stay connected to the charger for a least a couple hours after the charger indicates the battery is fully charged.

The thought being that the charger will indicate the battery is fully charged when really it is only say perhaps 95% charged. So keep charging particularly for that first charge. Don't know how accurate this is but doesn't seem to have hurt my batteries, particularly my first Lenmar. The second Lenmar I haven't yet run to empty.
