Exquisite!

There is something very special about the texture.

The stigmas of some cacti offer very interesting form and texture. I'm thinking, in particular, of the Peyote Lophophora williamsii* where the powder pink colour is a bonus. That is tricky in that the stamens fold inwards slowly if they detect movement or touch. I have quite a few film images but was too busy out in the sun to think of shooting some digital this summer.

*In the USA it is unlawful to own this species due to its hallucigenic flesh.
