I love my alt lenses for flowers. Here are four I don't think I have posted before. The first is with a Carl Zeiss Jena 135 f/3.5, the second is with a Leica R 90 summicron, the third is with a Minolta Rokkor 58 f/1.2, and the last is with a Minolta Rokkor 28mm f/2.

A loose comparison between 2 lenses. First, a C/Y 35-70 @35mm, second a ZE 35 f:1.4. Both shots @ f:10. There are differences in focal length (!), and framing and cropping are only approximately close. But the style difference between both lenses in such flower shots is IMHO quite visible.

@Philber: The colors look strange to me. Auto WB? It looks like it has received negative green correction.

The CY35-70 looks sharper and more contrasty...

No correction except sharpening. Lighting is bad, composition is indifferent, etc... The shots have no value except the comparison.

I always liked that lens too. I sold it earlier this year and replaced it with the Leica 90 elmarit (i.e., f/2.8), which I like just as much if not a bit better. I very much like the colours (or more technically the colour separation) from the Leica lenses.

Flypenfly, the first one is definitely a wall hanger! Didn't know you can get such a shot with the 21mm.

Steve, have you compared the 90 summicron or elmarit with the Zeiss MF 100/2? I just got the 100/2 and I'm very impressed with its bokeh. Not sure how distinct the rendering is between these and I'm hesitant to invest in 2 of similar focal length.

No, I haven't compared either of the Leica lenses to the Zeiss MP 100 f2, but I plan to get the Zeiss next year and then I will do a comparison. The Leica lenses and especially the elmarit are a lot smaller than the Zeiss MP, so even if they are not as good as the Zeiss MP (which I doubt they will be), will still be nice for some situations when I would prefer to take a smaller lens.

Thanks Smridevan, the 21mm actually has a pretty good MFD. Although being that danger close to bees is a little disconcerting.
