Sorry! Background blur, not back. A lot going on at work, my mind must have been elsewhere.

ah, the g45 actually seems to do the opposite it always has a little more dof than i expect.

I can see that. I took it out on a hike yesterday and used f/2 quite a bit, more so than I'd feel comfortable doing with any of my other lenses. It's a little harder to focus than my G 28mm with the adapter, but I should have expected that.

I'm also looking forward to some autumn colors - the coolers nights we've had recently has me aching to go backpacking in early October. Nothing beats the beautiful colors and lack of mosquitoes.

Excuse flickr's oversharpening...

Usually I have 3-4 lenses in my bag. Interestingly, the Zeiss C/Y 100mm f3.5 is more often than I expected one of them. It's the lens for occasions when I expect to shot wide angle, but want to have a short and light tele just in case. The Zeiss fills this needs perfectly: it weights 285g only, is very tiny and has excellent IQ. Great lens! A shot from last week:

Still shooting on Arizona's Mogollon Rim. Sony a99, Zeiss/Sony 16-35/2.8, F8, 1/50, ISO800.

Also have the Zony 24/2 and 85/1.4. Sold the 135/1.8--too heavy and not much use for it--and 'traded' the 50/1.4 for a Sony 50/1.4 which was a tiny bit sharper and much lighter and less expensive.
