My uncle got me interested in the 1960s,
buying me a camera at age 7 and a modest
film darkroom at age 10. I shot for the
newspaper and yearbook in college (U. Va.
in the 1970s) with Nikkormats,
concentrating on sports and concerts. My
interest surged again when affordable
DSLRs became available in 2003 (EOS
10D).
A year later, I started shooting HS sports
for a prep school and local weekly paper
with Canon and Nikon pro bodies. The
equipment list grew quickly when I started
shooting sports. I expanded into college
football, including 3
years of the Chick-fil-A Bowl. More
recently, I've mostly stopped shooting
sports and switched to smaller, mirrorless
gear.
