Mark was born and brought up in a small town near Boston and is married to a Texan. He and his wife Beth have been married for 12 years, all of them spent in Africa, and they have two daughters; a six year old and a two year old. He has worked for various international health organizations and now calls Mozambique home.
As a former Peace Corps volunteer in Africa in the early 90ís Mark developed an affinity for the continent. He is grateful to have had the opportunity to live in Ghana, Uganda, Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), Ethiopia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Kenya, Malawi and currently; Mozambique.
Mark's work focuses on portraits of everyday people. His goal is to reveal what life is like for the majority of Africans who do not work in the hotels and game parks, who are not refugees, and who are not on the nightly news.
His work is frequently on display in exhibitions throughout Africa.
