I am what you might call a part-time semi-professional photographer and digital artist using Nikon cameras and lenses and a multitude of digital software. Why both photographer and digital artist? Because I equally enjoy both sides of the digital photographic world... first, the thrill at the moment of image capture with my camera... and then, the excitement as I finish the image in my digital darkroom. My full-time career is in the medical field. Photography is something I do on the side for fun and some extra income. HISTORY: I started into photography as a hobby with an Olympus OM 35mm SLR system in the 80s and 90s (which grew to become a very nice system), which I continued to use until 2002. During those years, I had on numerous times been hired to do small jobs here and there. RECENT: The new digital age started to fascinate me as I watched it grow. I decided it was time in 2002, so I jumped into digital photography with a purchase of a D100 (2002-now sold), D1X (2003-now sold), D2H (2004) and D2X (2005). I finally decided to call myself a part-time semi-professional photographer as the amount of my job requests increased. My recent work has included local school, sports, community, and special events, as well as portraits (including senior class pictures), landscapes, and weddings. My future plans are to learn, practice, learn, practice... and see what happens. :)
