My name is Steve Berkner and I live in west central Minnesota on the South Dakota border in Ortonville, MN.
I graduated from Moorhead (MN) State University in 1986 with a BS degree in Journalism.
After graduation I went to work for Iowa Information Inc. as a full time photographer where I worked in northwest Iowa for 2 years when I resigned in 1988 from my fulltime position to go into the pizza business with my wife back in my home town, where we still live and run the same restaurant.
Over the years I have continued my photojournalism career by primarily working freelance, mostly covering off-road motorcycle racing.
I have covered 100s of motorcycle events for the US motorcycle press taking me to four continents.
My work is regularly seen in Cycle News, Cycle World, Dirt Bike, Dirt Rider and American Motorcyclist’s Association Magazine as well as other motorcycle publications.
During that time I have also regularly freelanced for the Associated Press, The Fargo Forum and the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Most recently I have also started to work in landscape and portrait photography building my portfolio with intentions of opening a local studio / gallery someday.
